Anek Review

Still From Trailer

Anubhav Sinha has given films like Mulk, Article 15, and Thappad that ask some bitter questions from the society. Adding another to the list is Anek. Anek is a powerful film that raises several questions for every Indian. There is a scene in which Ayushmann Khurrana says, Who is the Indian” How is it decided? Does Hindi decide that you are from North India? How is it decided whether you are from South, West, North East, or from where; how does it decide who is Hindustani?

Still From Trailer

Anubhav Sinha has done a splendid work with Anek. He has shown the problems faced by North East people. His storytelling is good. The film however slows down in some parts and trimming its run time would have worked better. Ayushmannn Khurrana is brilliant as Joshua. His dialogue delivery, expressions are top-notch. His last release Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui was also an exceptional movie. Along with him, Andrea Kevichusa, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, JD Chakraverti, and Loitongbam Dorendra also delivers powerful performances. Overall, Anek is a gripping film and we give it 3.5 stars out of 5.
