If you’ve ever found yourself humming “Rishton Ka Bandhan…” while your mom or dadi rushed through chores to catch Tulsi’s next sacrifice, then you already know — some shows feel like home. And now, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 is here! The first episode, which aired on July 29, is equal parts nostalgia, family drama, and new-age chaos — all with Tulsi Virani at the heart of it, holding Shanti Niketan together yet again.
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2: First Episode 29 July
The new season begins just the way old fans would want — Tulsi (Smriti Irani) reciting the Gayatri Mantra, her eyes brimming with old memories and silent strength. She talks to the Tulsi plant in the verandah like it’s an old friend who’s seen all her secrets. As the legendary title song plays, the camera pans to some fresh faces too — Ritik (Aman Gandhi), Angad (Rohit Suchanti), and Paridhi (Shagun Sharma) — the next generation ready to stir the calm.
Outside the house, Tulsi gets lost in memories of Baa. It’s her and Mihir’s (Amar Upadhyay) 38th wedding anniversary, but Tulsi is busy making sure everyone’s okay before thinking of herself. She helps Karan (Hiten Tejwani) find a towel, picks a saree for Nandini (Gauri Pradhan) — the same old Tulsi, the glue that keeps this huge family from falling apart. And yes, Daksha (Ketki Dave) is back too, but this time, she’s all about reels and hashtags!
Old Bonds, New Conversations
In a scene that’ll tug at any loyal fan’s heart, Tulsi talks to her late mother-in-law, Savita’s (Apara Mehta ) spirit. She pours out her worries — how she still feels alone sometimes. Seeing their mom quietly break down, Nandini and Karan promise to help more around the house. They even tease that Mihir should do the same, because why not?
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 Has Youthful Chaos
Meanwhile, Angad tries sneaking in after a late-night party. He thinks he can outsmart Tulsi? Not a chance. She catches him immediately — one sharp look and Angad knows he’s cornered. Tulsi reminds him gently that no matter how far her kids live — Karan, Nandini, Shobha, Hemant — they always come home when it matters.
A Surprise Gift And A Sweet Throwback
Just when you think Mihir might ruin Tulsi’s day with his grumbling about work stress, the story flips. Mihir comes back from his workout, doesn’t greet Tulsi, walks off — classic Mihir! Gayatri chachi (Kamalika Guha Thakurta) uses this moment to take her usual digs at Tulsi. Tulsi quietly walks away to pray instead of arguing, strong as ever.
Then, a shiny new car drives up to Shanti Niketan. Mihir steps out and hands Tulsi the keys — an anniversary gift she never expected. He even drops to one knee (yes, Mihir!) and wishes her with so much love that old scenes from season one start playing. The whole family steps out, shocked and touched all at once. Even Shanti Niketan’s walls must’ve smiled that day.
Trouble Is Not Far
While everyone is caught up in the sweetness, Gayatri fumes. She tries to convince her son Hemant (Shakti Anand) to challenge Mihir and Tulsi’s hold on the family. But Hemant just shrugs her off — he still looks up to them.
And there’s more drama brewing in the kids’ corner. Paridhi secretly chats with her boyfriend, feeling left out in the big Virani family, while Angad jumps to defend Tulsi, reminding his sister how fair their mom has always been to all of them.
As always, the episode closes with Tulsi praying for her family’s happiness — unaware that Gayatri wants exactly the opposite for her. Old house, new secrets — same Tulsi fighting silently for her family’s peace.
Feels Nostalgic!
The more things change, the more they stay the same. Tulsi’s strength, Mihir’s old-school romance, Daksha’s drama — and now, the kids with their own twists. If you missed the long monologues, conspiracies, and sweet family surprise, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 brings it all back, and how!
