Rom-com lovers, rejoice – Bollywood is clearly in the mood for love this year. After Saiyaara swept the box office, the next big-screen romance knocking on our doors is Param Sundari, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor. The trailer just dropped, and if first impressions are anything to go by, this one’s got the potential to charm its way into the audience’s hearts.

Directed by Tushar Jalota, Param Sundari brings together Sidharth as “Param,” a full-on Delhi ka munda, and Janhvi as “Sundari,” a graceful classical dancer from Kerala. It’s your classic cross-regional romance – two worlds colliding, plenty of culture clashes, and a healthy dose of comedy and drama to keep things moving.
The trailer kicks off with Param and Sundari reminiscing about how they first met in Kerala. The lush landscapes, temple backdrops, and vibrant cultural detailing instantly pull you in. But the real hook? Janhvi’s monologue paying tribute to South Indian icons like Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, Yash, and Allu Arjun – a scene that’s bound to get whistles in theatres.
Sidharth, meanwhile, throws in his trademark charm, even delivering SRK’s iconic Baazigar line – “Haar kar jeetne waale ko Baazigar kehte hai.” And yes, the whole set-up does give Chennai Express and 2 States vibes, but it still manages to carry its own freshness.

This is Bollywood rom-com territory done in its purest form – opposites attract, families frown, chaos ensues, and love fights to win. Sidharth looks perfectly at ease as the easygoing Delhi boy with a twinkle in his eye. Janhvi, on the other hand, looks like she’s finally having fun on screen. Her Sundari is poised, rooted in tradition, but not afraid to tease, banter, and match Param’s energy beat for beat. There’s even a hint of Deepika’s Meenamma from Chennai Express, but Janhvi brings her own sparkle to the role.
With Sanjay Kapoor and Manjot Singh rounding up the supporting cast, and a release date locked for August 29, 2025, Param Sundari is clearly aiming to be that colourful, feel-good entertainer that wins over both the city crowd and small-town audiences.
