Shah Rukh Khan has finally addressed some of the biggest questions surrounding his much-awaited film King. During his latest #AskSRK session on X, the superstar confirmed that the Siddharth Anand directorial will arrive in theatres as scheduled.
The action-adventure has been generating considerable buzz since its announcement. Fans have been waiting for the first major asset while rumours about a possible release date change have also been circulating. Shah Rukh has now made the situation clear.
Shah Rukh Khan Confirms King Release Date
During the interaction, Shah Rukh Khan confirmed that King will release in cinemas on December 24, 2026. The confirmation comes amid speculation that the film could be postponed because of the crowded December release calendar. However, the superstar has made it clear that the Christmas release remains unchanged. Red Chillies Entertainment had also reinforced the release date on Instagram, writing:
“KING akela kaafi hai! #KING is Ready to Roar on 24.12.2026 in Cinemas.”
The film will arrive just days after two major Hollywood releases, Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three, which are scheduled to hit theatres on December 18.

Shah Rukh also assured fans that he is not deliberately keeping them waiting. He wants the team to make the film properly before revealing more. He wrote:
“Ab picture hi dekho na! Tarsa nahi raha join acchhi wali bana raha hoon….ke Dil ko tasalli mile….Sab ayega…24th Dec se pehle.”
So, while fans will have to wait for the trailer, Shah Rukh has promised that more material will be released before December 24.

“Kar deta. Abhi Arijit dada ko finishing touches dene hain. He is a perfectionist takes some time rightfully.”
The involvement of Arijit has naturally raised expectations around the soundtrack. However, Shah Rukh’s comment suggests that the team is taking its time to get the music right.
