The makers of Ramayana: Rise of a Legend have unveiled a special musical unit Tandav featuring Rocking Star Yash as Ravana on the occasion of Dussehra. Titled Rise of Asura in Hindi, the reveal showcases Yash in a fierce avatar as the ruler of Lanka, offering a glimpse of the scale and intensity of his character.
The reveal comes as advance bookings for the film open across India. According to reports, Ramayana: Rise of a Legend has grossed ₹5.44 crore in advance bookings, including block seats, as of 1 PM IST.
Yash Commands Attention As Ravana In Tandav Reveal

Yash’s transformation into Ravana is the highlight of the newly released unit. His imposing appearance, intense expressions and commanding screen presence bring the mythological character into focus.
In Hindu mythology, Tandav is the cosmic dance associated with Lord Shiva, symbolising the cycles of creation, preservation and destruction. Ravana, a devoted follower of Lord Shiva, is traditionally associated with the Shiva Tandav Stotram, a hymn celebrated for its powerful rhythm and intensity.
The Dussehra reveal draws on this mythological connection to present Ravana through his devotion, strength and formidable persona. It also offers a glimpse of how the makers have envisioned one of Indian mythology’s most recognisable characters for the big screen.
The reveal carries additional significance on Dussehra, a festival associated with Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana. With Ranbir Kapoor playing Lord Rama and Yash portraying Ravana, the film brings two major stars together in a new retelling of the epic.
Ramayana Song Tandav Rise Of Asura
Released under the T-Series label, the Ravana Tandav musical unit has different titles across languages. It is called Rise of Asura in Hindi, Ravana Tandava in Kannada, and Ravana Tandavam in Tamil and Telugu.
The Hindi version features vocals by Vishal Dadlani, lyrics by Dr Kumar Vishwas, and music supervision by A.R. Ameen and Hiral Viradia. The Tamil version features vocals by Anirudh Ravichander and G. V. Prakash Kumar.
The musical reveal gives audiences an early glimpse of the film’s interpretation of Ravana, a character whose devotion to Shiva and complex place in the Ramayana have remained central to his portrayal across retellings.
