Spoiler Alert: This article contains the climax of Deva movie.

The film opens with Shahid Kapoor aka Dev Ambre appearing visibly shocked and informing his DCP friend, Farhan (Pravesh Rana), that he has solved the case by finding the killer of his friend, Rohan (Pavail Gulatie). Just after this, he meets with an accident that leads to his loss of memory. As the film runs to flashback, Mumbai Police is on a quest to nab a gangster called Prashant Jadhav (Manish Wadhwa).

In one scene, Jadhav’s location—which turns out to be a trap—is reported to the police. This raises concerns among everyone that a Jadhav informant is employed by the Mumbai Police. However, Rohan keeps chasing after Jadhav, and when they fight, Dev shows up and shoots Jadhav.

Rohan reluctantly accepts the credit when Dev convinces him to do the same and Rohan gets awarded at a ceremony on Maharashtra Day. A couple of minutes into his acceptance speech, he is shot dead by an unseen sniper.

Rohan had learned that the spy who had been working for Jadhav all along was Dev. He didn’t kill the mobster to save his pal; he did it to get rid of any possible evidence against him. Because he is afraid of the consequences, Rohan sets up the murder after threatening to tell everyone what Dev has done. He gets a sniper rifle and sets it on a tripod before Maharashtra Day. By installing a mechanism that would allow him to remotely fire the weapon from his phone.

Now jumping back to the first scene, Deva is now feeling guilty for doing the murder. Because he learns that Rohan was going to credit Dev for Jadhav’s “encounter” and was going to forgive him. Contrary to what Dev believed Rohan was going to tell everyone that Dev was the police mole.

Instead, Dev eventually confesses to Farhan his crime. Six months later, a group of inmates attack police officers at the prison where Dev is housed. We watch as Dev intervenes in the dispute and saves the cops.
