Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari Review: Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor Shine In This Glossy Romantic Rollercoaster

Sunny Sanskari (Varun Dhawan) is deeply in love with Ananya (Sanya Malhotra). Unfortunately, for her, it’s just a “situationship.” Things take a sharp turn when Sunny learns Ananya is engaged to Vikram (Rohit Saraf), a billionaire.

Broken but not defeated, Sunny plans to sabotage the wedding. Soon, he discovers Vikram’s past — he ditched his long-time girlfriend, Tulsi Kumari (Janhvi Kapoor), a schoolteacher. Finding common ground, Sunny and Tulsi join hands to crash the wedding, pretending to be a couple. From there, mischief, laughter, and emotions take over in the lavish Rajasthan setting. The film keeps you guessing — will Sunny and Tulsi succeed in reclaiming their exes, or will love take a completely new turn?

Shashank Khaitan, known for his flair in romantic comedies, makes sure each character shines. The first half is loaded with humour and quirky one-liners that land perfectly. The film starts on a light-hearted note, packed with comedy and witty one-liners. A standout is the playful exchange between Varun and Janhvi about acting, which hits just the right note. The dialogues (by Ishita Moitra) bring plenty of fun.

The second half shifts tone, leaning more on romance and emotions. While some scenes work, a few feel predictable and familiar. Still, the colourful setting, vibrant songs, and crackling chemistry keep you hooked.

Shashank Khaitan keeps the runtime short at 2 hours and 15 minutes, which works in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’s favour. Cinematography by Manush Nandan ensures Rajasthan looks dreamy and larger-than-life. And yes, the unexpected cameo in the climax will make fans cheer.

Sanya Malhotra brings depth to her role, especially in the emotional climax. Rohit Saraf charms his way through, making audiences root for him. Among the supporting cast, Abhinav Sharma and Maniesh Paul stand out with their comic punch. Akshaye Oberoi and Manini Chadha also deliver strong acts.

The music album of SSKTK is catchy, with Bijuria and Panwadi already popular. Ishq Manzoor adds the right romantic touch.
