The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power Review: A Slow Paced Extraordinary Visual Treat

There are few fictional universes that come with greater legacies in the works of J.R.R Tolkien. And when the task is to adapt his iconic stories again for a TV series, it seems challenging. However, if your showrunners are JD Payne and Patrick McKay, it is a cakewalk. It is a return to middle earth as The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power has made its splendid debut.

The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power revisits middle earth for a new adventure that is full of nostalgia. It is one of the latest released shows, and it is safe to say that it is off to a good start.

Undeniably Uneven

Prime Video

One of the perfect ways to describe the series so far is “undeniably uneven.” This fantasy show follows several plotlines that take the fans to different corners of the world. Backed by brilliant cinematography, screenwriting, and acting, the two episodes have been a huge success. Galadriel’s quest, the dark force, the forbidden romance between an elf and a woman, and everything else give a  very promising vibe.

Slow Paced Spectacle

Still From Trailer

The show has a little slow-paced characteristic within it. It is not that the first two episodes are slow-paced in a way that is boring. However, they have spent much time explaining what Middle Earth is. If we see this from the perspective of new fans and viewers, it is a plus point. However, the age-old fans of LOTR might find it repetitive and, of course, slow-paced.

However, this explanation has only been restricted to the first episode. From the second episode onwards journey of thrill and ecstasy beings. With witty banter, perfect dialogues, and the arrival of dwarfs, the viewer directly finds themselves in a land of fantasy.

Dialogue That Made The Ringers Elated

Although there are only two episodes that have been premiered so far. Nonetheless, people are highly elated over this one dialogue by Elf Arondir. The dialogue goes, “The past is with us whether we like it or not.” What makes every Ringer happy about this dialogue is that this is the very essence of the show. The show drops a hint over Peter Jackson’s Middle Earth cinematic universe, and that is nostalgic for all Ringers.

The Lord Of The Rings is a trilogy, and we all are well aware of it.  If we talk about the familiarity that the new The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power has with the trilogy, the characters cannot go unmentioned. Galadriel and Elrond are two of the main characters that come from the trilogy into the new LOTR series.

In The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power, Galadriel is portrayed by Morfydd Clark meanwhile Elrond is by Robert Aramayo. Here, Galadriel is a warrior seeking to find the source of evil, while Elrond is a politician.
