War 2 was expected to be the flag-bearer of the YRF Spy Universe after the historic success of Pathaan and Tiger 3. From Impressive Opening To Steep Decline
The film kicked off with a massive ₹52 crore opening, followed by an even bigger second day, thanks to the Independence Day holiday. But from Saturday onwards, the cracks began to show. The numbers dipped on Sunday and then collapsed heavily on Monday, with just ₹8.75 crore coming in. This was a drop of more than 70% from Day 2 collections, a clear signal that War 2 had failed to connect with the audience the way Pathaan or War (2019) did. Audience Shift To Saiyaara And Mahavatar Narsimha
One of the biggest setbacks for War 2 came with shows being reduced after its first weekend. In contrast, both Saiyaara and Mahavatar Narsimha saw an increase in screen count due to strong word of mouth and rising audience demand. This shift further dented the film’s weekday performance.
Hindi Leads, Telugu Falters
While War 2 has managed to cross the ₹150 crore mark in Hindi, the Telugu version underperformed after a promising start. Day 1 saw a massive ₹22.75 crore from Telugu states, but collections dropped drastically as the week progressed. Tamil remained negligible throughout.

By the end of its first extended week, it’s clear that War 2 has turned into the weakest film in the YRF Spy Universe, both in terms of box office numbers and audience reception.
