The month of August has started, and it will have some of the most amazing releases. The couple of releases to start with the month, Dhadak 2 and Son Of Sardaar 2. Some films entertain, and then some films shake something inside you. One such film is Dhadak 2. Starring Siddhant Chaturvedi, Triptii Dimri, Saurabh Sachdeva, Zakir Hussain, Vipin Sharma, Saad Bilgrami, Priyank Tiwari, and Anubha Fatehpuria. It is directed by Shazia Iqbal. A 2 hours and 26 minutes of powerful storytelling, sharp commentary, and performances that don’t just impress you—they haunt you. Dhadak 2 isn’t just a film; it’s a punch to the gut — and trust me, it lands.

Dhadak 2 Story

Set in present-day India, Dhadak 2 explores a reality we often pretend doesn’t exist. It begins with Neelesh (Siddhant Chaturvedi), a Dalit boy from Bhopal’s Bhim Nagar, who dreams big — of becoming a lawyer, making his mother proud, and breaking the cycle of injustice his family has endured. But the dream is interrupted before it even begins.

From witnessing his dog being murdered in front of his eyes to his mother being slapped for simply asking a question, Neelesh enters law college thinking he’s escaped the chains of caste. Little does he know, he’s just entered another battlefield.

He meets Vidhi (Triptii Dimri), a girl from a privileged Brahmin family who sees him as an equal — or at least tries to. Their connection is instant, tender, and layered with unspoken truths. But as their love blossoms, so does the resistance from a society that still sees caste before character. Especially in the form of Saurabh Sachdeva’s terrifying villain — a man who believes people like Neelesh don’t deserve to dream, let alone fall in love.

What follows is a powerful tale of love, loss, identity, and rebellion — all rooted in one chilling question: Do we really live in an equal society?

Dhadak 2 Review

Right from the get-go, Dhadak 2 lets you know it’s not here to play it safe. Writers Rahul Badwelkar and Shazia Iqbal have crafted a narrative that doesn’t hold back. It doesn’t sugarcoat, doesn’t paint saviors, and doesn’t chase happy endings. It’s honest, brutal, and deeply necessary.

Some scenes make you sob, scenes that make you clap, and scenes that leave you silently stunned. And while the message is loud and clear, the film never turns preachy. Instead, it uses emotions — raw, unfiltered emotions — to hit you where it hurts.

That said, the second half could’ve been tighter. The slow-motion shots, the unnecessary fade-outs, and the sudden bursts of comedy? They dilute the otherwise hard-hitting tone. Some moments feel a little stretched.

Also, the songs, except for Bas Ek Dhadak, none of the songs really stay with you. But despite its flaws, this film never loses sight of what it’s trying to say. It’s bold. It’s brave. And most importantly, it doesn’t try to please everyone.

Dhadak 2 Performances

Siddhant Chaturvedi has arrived. This is his most powerful performance to date. He doesn’t just act like Neelesh; he breathes every bruise, every hope, every heartbreak of that character. From the pain in his eyes to the rage in his silence — it’s an absolute brilliance.

Triptii Dimri, as Vidhi, gives a sincere performance. She has the innocence and strength that the role demands, though in certain intense scenes, she could’ve gone a notch deeper.

Saurabh Sachdeva? Chilling. Absolutely chilling. His screen presence is so menacing, you’ll end up hating the character with all your heart — and that’s a win for any actor.

Vipin Sharma is the emotional heartbeat of the film. Saad Bilgrami, Priyank Tiwari, Zakir Hussain, and Anubha Fatehpuria — everyone brings depth and authenticity to the story.

Final Verdict

Dhadak 2 is not a love story with social commentary sprinkled in — it’s a social commentary wrapped in a love story. Yes, it’s a remake of the Tamil film, Pariyerum Perumal, but it doesn’t feel like one. It feels fresh, rooted, and heartbreakingly relevant.

The quote at the beginning says it all: “When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty.” And Dhadak 2 doesn’t just say it — it lives it.
