After an impressive teaser, the makers of Hunkkaar: The Roar have released the official trailer of the upcoming JioHotstar series. Starring Aneet Padda and Fatima Sana Shaikh, the show takes on a serious subject involving power, sexual assault allegations and the struggle to be heard. Aneet plays Meenu Rawat, while Fatima plays ACP Jasleen Singh Soni. Raghubir Yadav plays the powerful spiritual guru Baapji. The trailer immediately sets up a conflict where speaking the truth may be only the beginning of the battle.

The trailer opens with Meenu arriving at a police station and filing a complaint against Baapji, accusing him of assault. The Hunkkaar trailer has a strong hook. It does not waste much time explaining the setup, and that works in its favour. Within a short runtime, it establishes the central conflict and then keeps raising the stakes around it.
What stands out most is that the trailer is not selling this as a simple police investigation. It brings in the courtroom, the media and public opinion. That makes the conflict feel wider without giving away where the story is headed.

The trailer’s strongest element is perhaps the question it raises about how society decides who deserves to be believed. Meenu’s character does not fit the conventional image of a victim, and the trailer clearly wants us to notice that. It adds an uncomfortable layer to an already serious subject.
The pacing is another positive. The trailer keeps moving and does not spend too much time explaining the backstory. Each new glimpse adds something to the conflict. The result is a trailer that feels tense without becoming overloaded.
It also knows when to hold back. We understand Meenu’s allegation and the challenge facing Jasleen, but the trailer does not give away the complete truth behind the case. That is important. A subject like this can easily lose its impact if the trailer explains too much.
Trailer Verdict
Hunkkaar leaves us wanting to know more. That is the biggest job of a trailer, and this one manages to do it without revealing the entire story. Of course, this is still only a trailer. We cannot judge the complete series from two minutes of footage. But as a trailer, Hunkkaar: The Roar gives us a clear premise, a serious conflict and enough unanswered questions to build curiosity.
