August started with a couple of big releases, Son Of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2. Back in 2012, Son Of Sardaar gave us desi swag, non-stop laughs, and full-on family madness — even clashing with a giant like Jab Tak Hai Jaan and still emerging a winner. Now, 13 years later, Ajay Devgn is back with Son Of Sardaar 2.
SOS2 stars Ajay Devgn, Ravi Kishan, Mrunal Thakur, Neeru Bajwa, Deepak Dobriyal, Kubbra Sait, Chunky Panday, Sharat Saxena, late Mukul Dev, Sanjay Mishra, Ashwini Kalsekar, Vindu Dara Singh, Roshni Walia, Sahil Mehta, and Dolly Ahluwalia. It is directed by Vijay Kumar Arora. Son Of Sardaar 2 is a spiritual sequel that brings back the same flavour, more characters, and more siyappa. But the big question is, does it live up to the OG madness? Let us find out.
Son Of Sardaar 2 Story

The film kicks off with our Punjabi munda Jassi (Ajay Devgn), who’s happily married to Dimple (Neeru Bajwa). She shifts to the UK for work, and years later, Jassi finally gets his visa — only to be hit with a twist: Dimple wants a divorce! Heartbroken but holding onto his desi optimism, Jassi bumps into Rabia (Mrunal Thakur), a Pakistani woman with a shaadi crisis of her own.

Her stepdaughter wants to marry an Indian guy, but the groom’s family wants a “shareef, Indian-origin, family-wali girl.” So Jassi, Rabia, and their gang fake a big fat Indian family — and that’s where the real madness begins! From cross-border confusion to full-blown comic chaos — this one’s a roller coaster with all the Punjabi tadka you’d expect.
Son Of Sardaar 2 Review

Let’s be honest — the first 20 minutes feel like a confused cocktail. The screenplay is shaky, the jokes fall flat, and you’ll wonder, “Yeh kya ho raha hai bhai?” But once it finds its rhythm, it finds its ROFL mode! Post-interval, the film delivers a solid dose of laughter, especially in the pre-climax and climax, which are absolute laugh riots!

The makers have sprinkled in references to classic Bollywood moments (which land well), and the desi slapstick humour works if you go in expecting a no-brainer masala entertainer. Logic? Please leave it at home. That said, the VFX in certain scenes is cringy, and a few jokes miss the mark. Still, if you’re in the mood for old-school Bollywood-style chaos, Son Of Sardaar 2 delivers it with swag.
Son Of Sardaar 2 Performances

Ajay Devgn, as always, delivers in style — especially in scenes that demand over-the-top comedy. What’s even more impressive? He lets Ravi Kishan lead the climax — and that’s something you don’t see often from big stars. Now here’s the surprise package: Ravi Kishan and Deepak Dobriyal steal the show with their comic timing and mad energy. Their scenes are pure gold!
Mrunal Thakur looks stunning in SOS2 and proves that she can totally ace comic timing too. Her pairing with Ajay Devgn brings freshness to the film.

Late Mukul Dev was impressive with his work. Sadly, we won’t be able to see him anymore. Neeru Bajwa is effective, while supporting cast members like Kubbra Sait, Vindu Dara Singh, Chunky Pandey, and others play their parts well.
But yes, Ashwini Kalsekar and Sanjay Mishra are absolutely wasted — and that’s a bummer. The music of SOS2 is average, though the title track and viral hit Pehla Tu Duja Tu do add fun to the ride. And yes, don’t leave the theatre early – there’s a very special cameo in the end and a big announcement that will leave fans super excited!
Final Verdict

Son Of Sardaar 2 is a loud, desi, no-logic comedy that knows what it is — a pure crowd-pleaser. If you go in expecting smart humor, this isn’t for you. But if you’re looking to laugh out loud with family and enjoy some classic pagdi-swagger, this one’s paisa vasool!
