While Gerwig’s forthcoming fantasy drama is the first live-action film based on Mattel’s well-known doll Barbie, Margot Robbie, an Australian actress who was the highest-paid actress in Hollywood in 2022, will star in it.

Robbie first gained notoriety, co-starring Leonardo DiCaprio’s co-star in Martin Scorsese’s 2013 film The Wolf of Wall Street. In addition, the 33-year-old actress co-founded LuckyChap Entertainment, a production business that has supported several of her endeavors, including Barbie.

In a recent interview with the New York Times, director Greta Gerwig discussed the budget of the fantasy drama Barbie and disclosed that it is $145 million (about Rs 1,190 crore) in total. It should come as no surprise, given the film’s outstanding supporting cast, which includes America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman, and Will Ferrell, and the production costs expended. Oppenheimer, a film directed by Nolan, was made with significantly less budget. The highly anticipated biopic Oppenheimer, directed by Christopher Nolan, has a $100 million (about Rs 821 crore) budget, which gives it a more substantial chance of succeeding at the box office, according to Screenrant.
