Clues You Might Have Missed In GOT Season 08 Episode 02

via

Game of Thrones (GOT) has been a series that is discussed the most amongst the fans. A lot of speculations have been made towards the ending of the series. GOT Season 08 Episode 02 is released and we bring out some clues from the episode, which might give you direction to think for logical, yet unexpected times ahead in the series.

I believe most of you have already watched it if you’re here.  We saw a lot of weapons, witty replies and conversations about death in there, just a few hours prior to the arrival of deads. While watching this episode, many emotions passed through me at the same moment but that didn’t answer my questions. I still had my doubts and the moments where I had to figure out the connection from the past or the future of the remaining Game of Thrones. So, the following are some of the minor details that you might have missed.

1. When Bran Said, “Things We Do For Love”

via

Bran saying that was reminiscent to the statement that he said to Littlefinger, “Chaos is a ladder”. Bran said it in reply to the Littlefinger’s talk of Chaos in Season 07, which was initially said by Littlefinger to Varys in Season 03. When Jamie was standing right in front of Sansa Stark, Jon Snow (or you can call him Aegon Targaryen) and super angry Danny, it suddenly sends me back to the last season; to the trial of Littlefinger. Though Jamie didn’t end up dying, it was interesting to watch how no one apart from Jamie got the context of Bran’s metaphor.

2. Death On Tyrion’s Mind

via

I believe you remember Tyrion saying to his brother Jamie, “So, we’re going to die, at Winterfell”. He said it as if he is fully convinced about his death. He reminded several times in the episode about his death, but he did also mention about e didn’t expect to die in Winterfell. He can also be seen telling Varys and Ser Jorah either of them might have to take his place once he is gone. I don’t think he simply said it because Daenerys was angry at him. Do you?

3. Jamie Still Has Faith In Cersei

via

Jamie admits that he believes Cersei about her pregnancy even after knowing that she lied about everything else. We saw her drinking wine in episode 01, which indicates that she’s not carrying a child. Listening to it, I was reminded of Maggy and her prophecy. Maggy told Cersei about how all of her children are going to die. Also, she mentioned that a Valonqar or her younger brother would kill him, for which she always hated Tyrion. Connecting the dots, I think that this would become a reason for Jamie to kill Cersei as he would feel betrayed by Cersei about the child.

4. In Case You Missed, ‘Ghost’ Was Seen

via

We were all curious about the last surviving direwolf that belonged to Jon, after not seeing him in the first episode. Ghost has been a vital part of Jon’s journey in the series and it was amazing seeing him yet another time. It is just a speculation that we may see Ghost ripping some wights apart in the coming episode.

5. Bran’s Revelation On The GOT

via

It was a scene full of stars when everyone was discussing their strategies to face the deads. It has been a very important and relevant question since the end of the time that what does Night King actually wants. Bran puts a full stop on these speculations when he revealed that Night King is coming for him, as he has tried in the past as well. Bran also mentioned the potential motive of the Night King, “An endless night. He wants to erase this world and its memory.” He further explained that the counter is coming for him as he is the Three-Eyed Raven and is the source of all knowledge, which has or which will ever be existed.

6. Unseen And Unheard Conversation Between Tyrion and Bran

via

It was very interesting for me to see the wittiest man and The Three-Eyed Raven sitting down for a conversation. I was very excited to hear some of it, I am assuming you too were but we didn’t get to see it. It won’t be false to think that these two definitely discussed some important things or maybe events, which might shiver the upcoming events. We might never know that they have thought of some plan of action for the times to come.

7. Episode  Title: ‘The Knight Of The Seven Kingdom’

via

It makes sense if you think that the episode title refers to ‘Ser’ Brienne of Tarth following the scene where Jamie Knighted her. It is also mentioned by the writers of the episode in the making video that they were so overwhelmed while this scene was shot that they gave this name to the episode itself. But, if we take books in consideration, it’s mentioned there that ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdom’ was a book based on Duncan Targaryen, who was the very first heir to the Iron Throne, prior to the ‘Mad King’.

8. Podrick Just Sang A Song Or Was It A Clue?

via

The song goes like:

“High in the halls of the kings who are gone
Jenny would dance with her ghosts.
The ones she had lost and the ones she had found.
And the ones who had loved her the most.
The ones who’d been gone for so very long
She couldn’t remember their names
They spun her around on the damp, cold stone
Spun away her sorrow and pain
And she never wanted to leave”.

According to the sources, there is a song called Jenny’s song in the books. It is supposedly about a girl with name Jenny of Oldston and the prince, Duncan Targaryen. One tends to give up on a lot of things for love and that’s what Duncan did, he gave up the Iron Throne to the ‘Mad King’ for the love of Jenny. This sacrifice of Duncan is the reason that ‘Mad King’ got a chance to ascend to the throne.

There were a lot of happenings in episode 02. Another thing that we saw was something good to watch is when Gendry and Arya got involved. It was a relief to eyes to see finally something good happening with both of them before the longest war.

We saw the changes in Danny’s expressions and body language when Jon reveals his identity to her. We saw Danny going pale when Jon said that he is the son of his late brother and the heir to the throne. It is fair on Danny’s end to react that way as till now she was living as someone to have no family. She always has thought since Viserys’ death that she is the only Targaryen alive in the world. She might have felt a lot of emotions at the same time; either she could have felt complete knowing about another alive Targaryen or she could have just thought about the throne and saw Jon as a threat to her claim.

Joining the dots, if Podrick’s song was any kind of clue towards the ending of the show, then Jon might just be the one to give up the throne for the love of Danny. And if events fall in this line then we might see Danny ascending as the ‘Mad Queen’, which means that she is going to die.

I can’t stop myself from thinking that if Danny becomes the one to sacrifice the throne for the ‘love’ of Jon Snow(Aegon Targaryen). If you think the same let us know, right below in the comments section. We’re open, if you have any kind of logical theory towards the end of the show, then let us know in the comments section below.
