Kartik Aaryan is down to earth person. Recently, he recalls the struggles he had faced to reach here. In the conversation with BBC Hindi, Kartik recalls his struggles. He shared,

“Us samay bahut problem tha rent ka. Hum 12 log rehte the ek time pe ek PG mein, and that was when I had done 2 films. Uske baad bhi hum 12 log ek 2BHK wale PG mein rehte the. Usme har room mein 3-3 ladke rehte the, aur wo change bhi hote rehte the kyunki agar kisi ki film nahi ho rahi hai ya kisi ka audition crack nahi ho raha hai, to 2 mahine baad uski jagah koi aur aa jata tha wahaan pe. Maine kaafi friends bhi banaye us time pe and main abhi bhi touch mein rehta hun unke. Par bahut odd bhi baat hoti thi jab koi ja raha hota that.

(There was a lot of issues at that time to manage rent. We were 12 people who used to live in a PG together and that was when I had already done 2 films. After that too, I was living in a 2 BHK PG with 12 guys and every room had like 3-3 boys living together. And that also used to change a lot if someone’s film wasn’t happening or they were not being able to crack auditions as in 2 months, someone else would take their place. I made a lot of friends too at that time with whom I still stay in touch, but that changeover used to be very odd.)”

Kartik also spoke about the financial struggles and strain his parents were facing and how he managed things on his own to an extent. He added,

“Us samay minimalistic paise the mere mom-dad ke liye bhi kyunki wo Gwalior mein rehte the and unki bhi ek level ki kamayi hoti thi jisme wo mujhe sustain kar sakte the. Main Mumbai mein unse itna nahi le sakta tha kyunki unke khud ke life ke struggles chal rahe the. To main apna khud hi cheezein kar raha tha yahaan and usme mujhe difficulty bahut hoti thi to manage rent and food kai baar. Wo sabse tough tha and doston mein udhaar usme chalta rehta tha.

(I also had very minimalistic money for myself as my mom-dad had limited income in Gwalior and they could send me only a certain amount in Mumbai. They had their own struggles so I used to do things on my own. And I used to face a lot of difficulty in managing both food and rent. I used to borrow money from my friends too and that was indeed the toughest time.)”

After Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Kartik Aaryan has upcoming films like Shehzada, Captain India, and an untitled love story in the pipeline. We wish you more success Kartik.
