The film kicked off its cinematic journey with a modest Rs 2.8 crore on the first day. Although there was a glimmer of hope with a 60 percent growth on Saturday, raking in Rs 4.80 crore, Sunday failed to capitalize on the momentum. The ICC World Cup frenzy seemed to have impacted its box office numbers, recording only Rs 5 crore on the third day.

Low Occupancy And Lifetime Prospects

With an overall shocking 18 percent occupancy on Sunday, “Mission Raniganj” appears to be on a disappointing trajectory, pointing towards a lifetime wrap-up of approximately Rs 20 crore. The film’s current standing is just marginally ahead of Akshay Kumar’s previous release, “Selfiee,” which opened at Rs 2.55 crore and concluded its weekend with Rs 10.30 crore. Sunday’s clash between India and Australia in the ICC World Cup might have diverted attention from the theaters, contributing to the lackluster performance of “Mission Raniganj.”

Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and produced by Pooja Entertainment, “Mission Raniganj” is a survival thriller based on a real-life incident in West Bengal’s coal mine, where 65 mine workers were rescued after a flood. Despite its intriguing premise, the film struggled to translate its potential into box office success. In conclusion, “Mission Raniganj” faces an uphill battle, and only time will tell if it can recover from its lackluster start at the box office.
