On Friday, December 22, Prashanth Neel’s “Salaar,” starring Prabhas, will be released. However, the number of theaters where the movie will open was unknown as of Thursday afternoon. Furthermore, ‘Salaar’ was allegedly denied equal sharing of screens in most multiplexes and single screens in the North, particularly PVRInox and Miraj Cinema. This, as a result, raised suspicions of foul play.

Dunki, which Rajkumar Hirani directs, features Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, and Boman Irani among its cast members. The Hindi version of the movie was released.

Moreover, Dunki is Shah Rukh’s third movie of the year. The actor earlier starred in Siddharth Anand’s Pathaan and Atlee’s Jawan. Around the world, each of those movies brought in over Rs 1000 crore. On Day 1, the Shah Rukh Khan film “Dunki” had a respectable start.

‘Salaar’ was reportedly chosen to pull out of PVRInox and Miraj Cinema, even in the South. “We have come across some speculative media reports about the film SALAAR and its release at PVR INOX Cinemas,” stated PVRInox in response to the reports that were refuted. Furthermore, they state, “We want to clarify that these claims are untrue. Salaar is, therefore, one of the most anticipated movies of the year, and it will be released nationwide on December 22, 2023, in PVR INOX theaters. PVR INOX provided this information.”

Furthermore, the division has been healed, and ‘Salaar’ will now open on an equal number of screens in the North and 70% in the South. According to a source, “We have opened national chains after agreeing for equal sharing in the north and 70% sharing in the South.”

Many exhibitors are already feeling relieved after hearing this news. Moreover, Manoj Desai, Executive Director of Gaiety Galaxy and Maratha Mandir Cinema, expressed his dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs to ETimes on Wednesday. He stated, “Friday, the film is releasing, and we’re still hanging with no bookings open or certainty of anything.”
