If you love reality shows filled with twists, sass, secrets, and a whole lot of drama, then The Traitors on Amazon Prime Video might just become your new obsession. Hosted by none other than Karan Johar (who’s clearly in his element), this show brings together a bizarrely exciting mix of celebrities—from actors and influencers to a rapper and even an astrologer.
But make no mistake—this isn’t just about glitz and glamour. It’s all about trust, betrayal, and playing mind games inside a royal palace.
The Traitors Setup

So here’s the game: 21 celeb contestants walk into a luxurious palace, thinking this will be just another reality show. Nope. Karan drops the bomb early—three of them are secretly chosen as Traitors, and the rest are Innocents. The Innocents must figure out who the Traitors are, while the Traitors quietly “eliminate” one player every night. It’s psychological, twisted, and honestly, quite addictive.
The vibe? Think Bigg Boss meets Among Us with a heavy dose of Karan Johar flair.
Traitors: The Confessions
One of the most talked-about moments in the very first episode involves Uorfi Javed getting surprisingly candid during a casual chat with Jannat Zubair, Apoorva Mukhija, and Sahil Salathia. Out of the blue, Jannat asks Uorfi if Harsh Gujral likes her. Uorfi laughs and says:
“Mujhe Harsh pasand tha ek time pe… I will not lie, maine usse bataya bhi tha.”
Jannat’s jaw practically drops. Curious, she digs deeper,
“Move on nahi hua?”
Uorfi replies honestly,
“Move on matlab move nahi hua aage. Ab kuch bhi nahi hai waise.”
Apoorva jumps in, teasing,
“Tum dono ek ho jao!”
Uorfi firmly says,
“Ab mann nahi hai uske saath kuch bhi.”
Later, when Harsh joins the group, the teasing escalates. Apoorva jokes:
“Godhi hai na Uorfi ki,”
and even adds,
“Shaadi ke baad hi chuhoge kya bhabhi ko?”
Harsh, playing along, bends down dramatically to touch Uorfi’s feet. It’s bizarre, funny, and peak reality show content.
Traitors: The Accusations
But just when you think things are all laughs and flirtations, a serious twist flips the mood.
During a game where contestants guess who the Traitors might be, Harsh Gujral suddenly says to Janvi Gaur:
“Mujhe kabhi kabhi lagta hai aap jaadu tona karti ho. Aata hai na aapko? Kar logi na agar karne diya jaaye toh?”
Everyone freezes. Janvi is clearly shaken. She doesn’t say anything then, but later confides in Maheep Kapoor and Sufi Motiwala that no one is talking to her after Harsh’s comment. The impact on her mental space is obvious.
That night, Harsh notices her silence and teases again. Janvi finally confronts him, saying his black magic comment hurt her. Harsh denies it completely and says it was just a one-liner. When she brings it up with Karan Kundrra and the others, most brush it off as a joke.
But the damage is done—and the audience can feel it.
Traitors: The Vibe

The show slowly builds momentum after the first episode. It starts with intros and some awkward bonding moments, but once the guessing games begin, the tension really kicks in. Karan Johar, with his signature dramatics and sharp wit, plays puppet master to perfection—sometimes comforting, sometimes stirring the pot.
The palace setting is rich and over-the-top (very KJo), and the contestants are a wild mix—some chaotic, some chill, some just plain unpredictable.
Traitors: The Standouts
Among the chaos, a few players really stand out:
Apoorva Mukhija is sharp, funny, and clearly understands the game.
Ashish Vidyarthi is calm and composed, a nice contrast to all the loud personalities.
Raj Kundra and Sufi Motiwala have their moments, and Sufi especially might turn out to be an underdog.
Traitors: The Catch
That said, the show isn’t perfect. Despite being a Hindi adaptation, a lot of conversations are in English, which might feel a bit alienating for viewers expecting more “desi” drama. And the “break-the-fourth-wall” monologues in which performers address the camera directly? They’re starting to feel overdone.
Still, The Traitors works because it doesn’t try to be polished. It’s messy, moody, and bingeable.
Final Thoughts
The Traitors is chaotic, controversial, and kind of a luxe Bigg Boss and Roadies mix. It’s the kind of show you’ll hate to love but won’t be able to stop watching. Whether you’re here for the strategy, the scandal, or just Uorfi being Uorfi—it delivers on all fronts.
So, if you’re craving a guilty pleasure that mixes mystery, social games, and good old Bollywood-style drama, this is your next watch.
New episodes drop every Thursday on Prime Video at 8 PM—three at a time. Next batch lands on June 19, then June 26, and the grand finale airs on July 3. Mark your calendars!
