One of the most awaited films of 2025, Raid 2, has been released. Finally, Ajay Devgn returns as IRS Officer Amay Patnaik. Raid 2 is a sequel to the 2018 film Raid. The film stars Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Vaani Kapoor, Rajat Kapoor, Supriya Pathak, Amit Sial, and Saurabh Shukla. Raj Kumar Gupta returns as director. Raid 2 is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar.
Raid 2 Story

The story revolves around IRS officer Amay Patnaik. He is back to business as a no-nonsense Income Tax officer. He has transferred to Bhoj, where he is off for his 75th raid. However, this time, the task is not as easy as it seems, like gold pouring from the ceiling. This time, it is a politician, Dada Manohar Bhai, played by Riteish Deshmukh. The CM does not run the government over there; Dada Bhai does.
Amay Patnaik, with his team, enters Dada Manohar Bhai’s place for the Raid. However, things do not go as plan or it was in the first part, where he gets the gold from the ceiling. Here, he does not find anything, no gold, no files, nothing. Amay fails and gets suspended. Amay Patnaik, just like from the first part, is in no mood to give up. What follows is the cat-and-mouse game with twists, legal drama, and thrill that leads us to a solid, satisfying climax. The question is How? That’s for you to watch and cheer for.
Raid 2 Review

Director Raj Kumar Gupta keeps the essence of the first part, keeping the narrative intense, but with more drama and thrill. The screenplay is sharp, especially in the second half, where the suspense unfolds. Along with the intense drama, there is a humor that has been placed perfectly. The film takes its time to build up in the first half, also the songs break the momentum in the initial parts. But the satisfying and solid second half makes up for it.
Raid 2 Performances

Ajay Devgn lives the character Amay Patnaik. He walks into every frame with calm confidence. No unnecessary action. Just that steady voice, stern glare, and unwavering integrity. His body language, especially those eyes, does the talking in most of the scenes. He effortlessly owns the screen in Raid 2, similar to what we have seen in its prequel, Raid.
Riteish Deshmukh is phenomenal. The way he brings that duality of charm and menace in equal measure is outstanding. His body language is fantastic, and his dialogue delivery is top-notch.

Vaani Kapoor looked amazing as Ajay Devgn’s wife. She shines in her limited screen presence. Some fans may miss Ileana D’Cruz as portrayed as Ajay Devgn’s wife in the 2018 Raid. Saurabh Shukla is superb with his dialogues and comic timings. However, his role is limited in the second part. Amit Sial is good and adds depth to the narrative. Supriya Pathak and Rajat Kapoor, as always, deliver with quiet authority.
The scenes, especially the face-off between Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh, are brilliant and are the highlights of the film. The background music elevates the scenes with powerful dialogues. Tamannaah’s item number adds that crowd-pleasing zing.
Final Verdict

Raid 2 keeps you on the edge of your seat, filled with strong performances from Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, a compelling story, and a solid climax. A gripping first half could have worked wonders. Still, the solid and captivating second half makes up for it. Overall, Raid 2 is a riveting thriller, delivers what it promises.
