The wait is over for Prabhas fans! The teaser of The Raja Saab, a much-anticipated horror comedy directed by Maruthi, is finally out—and it’s as quirky, stylish, and grand as one could expect from a Prabhas-starrer. Released on June 16 at exactly 10:52 AM, the 2 minutes 29 seconds teaser has been making waves online, promising a mix of romance, horror, fantasy, and mass entertainment.

The Raja Saab teases a film that dares to be different, while keeping the masala formula very much intact.

After years of playing intense, larger-than-life characters in films like Baahubali, Saaho, and Adipurush, Prabhas returns to a lighter, more humorous avatar in The Raja Saab. He plays a charming, relatable man caught in an eerie yet adventurous storyline. His romantic song with Nidhhi Agerwal opens the teaser, and he even strikes Shah Rukh Khan‘s famous posture, which instantly wins people over. But just when things seem rosy, the mood takes a darker turn with spine-chilling visuals.

Fans have been quick to draw parallels to SRK-style romance, only to be thrown into a horror-comedy setup within seconds—a twist that is both surprising and exciting.

The haunted haveli is not just a backdrop—it’s a character in itself. According to the makers, a sprawling 41,256 square feet set was constructed just for this mansion, making it one of India’s biggest horror sets ever created. This location serves as the eerie playground for the story’s supernatural elements, where treasure hunts, ghosts, and bizarre twists await.

According to director Maruthi,

“Raja Saab is a genre-defying journey that blends horror and fantasy, reality and surrealism.”

And based on the teaser, the movie does actually transport us through a variety of emotional and cinematic landscapes, including intrigue, humor, romance, and dread.

Alongside Prabhas, the film features Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar, each making a striking appearance in the teaser. Sanjay Dutt’s surprise cameo in a villainous look adds spice to the narrative, while Malavika’s mysterious character seems deeply obsessed with the lead, hinting at hidden twists.

From dance numbers to haunted encounters, the ensemble cast seems well-poised to add multiple layers to this fantasy-horror tale.

Raja Saab: Visual Grandeur And VFX Brilliance

One of the standout aspects of the teaser is its heavy use of VFX and spectacular set design. The teaser merges folklore with modern horror elements, offering dramatic ghost appearances, magical landscapes, and surreal fantasy sequences. Cinematographer Karthik Palani and editor Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao have ensured that the visuals keep you glued throughout.

Music by Thaman S brings a dramatic yet whimsical touch, which adds to the teaser’s emotional highs and ghostly chills.

Before the official teaser drop, some footage and photos were unfortunately leaked online. The creators responded with a harsh social media warning, saying, “If any leaked content is found, strict action will be taken and handles will be suspended immediately.” However, the official release was met with overwhelming love, especially in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where fans gathered at select theatres to watch the teaser together.

Director Maruthi said launching the teaser in Prabhas’ hometown and seeing the crowd’s powerful reaction was “unforgettable.” The buzz has only grown since then, with fans confidently predicting a “Rs 1000 crore blockbuster”.

Raja Saab Release Date

The film has been officially rescheduled from its original April 10 release date to December 5, 2025. With such an ambitious vision and the time taken for post-production and VFX enhancements, the delay seems worth it.

Jointly produced by B4U Motion Pictures and AA Films, the movie aims to cater to a pan-Indian audience, combining regional flavour with universal appeal.
