1. Brad Pitt

Following the box office success of his film Seven Years in Tibet, the actor was subjected to a 20-year ban in China, which lasted until 2016. He portrayed Heinrich Harrer, an Austrian mountain climber who befriended the Dalai Lama during China’s occupation of Tibet.


2. Beyoncé

Beyoncé Banned

She had a concert in 2007, but she had to cancel it owing to objections over her clothing and performances. According to the BBC, “government guidelines require female artists at Malaysian concerts to cover up from shoulders to knees, with no cleavage showing.” As a result, Beyoncé canceled the show because she wasn’t even allowed to dance on the stage.


3. Justin Bieber

In 2017, the musician was barred from entering China due to his “bad behavior.” Later, he was barred from performing in Argentina after reportedly assaulting a photographer in 2013 and taking his money and equipment. The musician was also accused of defaming the flag of Argentina. Justin was also said to have been kicked out of Disneyland for reportedly striking Mickey Mouse in the crotch years ago. Oh, no!

After a video of the model holding a Buddha biscuit while squinting her eyes went viral, Gigi was banned from China indefinitely in 2017. China has not forgotten about this bigoted act.


5. Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus was banned from China in 2009 after she uploaded a racist photo of herself with what appeared to be slanted eyes. “Miss Cyrus has made it obvious she is no friend of China or anyone of East Asian descent,” said Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi shortly after. We have no desire to contaminate further the minds of our children with her American ignorance.”
