Akshay Kumar is back with another film Selfiee. It is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi are coming together for the first time ever in the film Selfiee. It is directed by Raj Mehta and produced by Magic Frames, Cape of Good Films, Dharma Productions, and Prithviraj Productions. It also stars Nushrratt Bharuccha, Diana Penty, Mahesh Thakur, Abhimanyu Singh, and Meghna Malik. Selfiee is an entertaining film with brilliant performances from Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi.

The story is based on a superfan and a superstar. Vijay Kumar (Akshay Kumar) is a superstar. He is about to shoot his new film in Bhopal. Om Prakash Agarwal (Emraan Hashmi) is an RTO inspector in Bhopal and is a die-hard fan of Vijay Kumar. Om Prakash lives with his wife Minti (Nushrratt Bharuccha) and son Gabbu (Neev Ahuja). He always watches Vijay Kumar’s films’ first-day first show. Om gets excited when he gets to know that Vijay Kumar is shooting in Bhopal. He and his son go to see him and get a selfiee with his favorite superstar. However, owing to the crowd and fans, he does not get the opportunity to get clicked.

Vijay Kumar lost his driving license and needed one immediately to get the car sequence shoot. Om Prakash agrees to give him a license in a desire to get Selfiee with him. He asks Vijay to arrive at the RTO office. However, a misunderstanding creates a feud between the two. Vijay Kumar’s superfan Om Prakash insists that an actor must give tests and legally procure the license like a common man. This led to a fight between a superstar and a superfan, a common man. Who will win between the two; forms the rest of the film.

Selfiee Review

Selfiee is an official Hindi remake of Driving Licence, a Malayalam film. Raj Mehta, who has directed JugJugg Jeeyo and Good Newwz, is the director of the drama-comedy. Raj Mehta has done a brilliant job in direction. He gave the film a mainstream appeal to give it more originality. Honestly, I am impressed with his last works, Good Newwz and JugJugg Jeeyo, and with Selfiee, he has even made his base stronger. Raj Mehta has added flavors of humor, drama, and emotions in the Selfiee that come out well for the audience.

Akshay Kumar has been amazing with his performance. His dialogue delivery, creating humor, and presenting an aura of a superstar are worth applauding. However, Emraan Hashmi steals the show with his outstanding performance. The way he portrays a role of a superfan of Vijay Kumar is really commendable. In the first half, it is an eagerly excited fan who wants to click Selfiee with his favorite superstar. In the second half, it is the same fan, but fighting for his self-respect against his favorite superstar. The way Emraan manages to handle both emotions is fantastic. I am a huge fan of Emraan Hashmi’s dialogue delivery, and he nails it in Selfiee as well.

Diana Penty, who played the role of Akshay Kumar’s wife, does not have much screen presence. Her role is short and also does not have much scope to showcase her skills. Nushrratt Bharuccha, who played the role of Emraan Hashmi’s wife, also has a limited screen presence. A veteran actor Mahesh Thakur also has nothing much to do in the film. Abhimanyu Singh is hilarious in his comic timing.

The song Kudiyee Ni Teri Vibe, where Akshay Kumar grooves with Mrunal Thakur, sets the screen on fire. The remake of Main Khiladi Tu Anari in the credit is worth watching. The first half of the film is filled with humor, while the second half has drama and emotions.
