The year 2023 has commenced, and many of us cinephiles cannot wait for the upcoming movies. However, we also can not forget what a nightmare 2022 was. We barely got to see a film that could be termed a “masterpiece.” From Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan to Ranveer Singh’s Cirkus, we saw many Bollywood flops. Therefore, to say that some Bollywood actors are indeed going through a rough career patch would not be so wrong. However, it’s not only the Bollywood actors who are experiencing a hard time. Plenty of South superstars have also been going through the same hard time. With back-to-back flops, the gems from down south have also fallen flat at the box office.

If you find it difficult to believe, then fret not. We have come up with a list of 4 South superstars who are now struggling a bit in their careers. From Rajinikanth to Prabhas, check out this interesting list.

1. Rajinikanth

If the talk is about south superstars, how can we mention any other name before Rajinikanth’s? He has a career that spans over 50 decades. To say that he is the best of the bests would be a sheer understatement. However, his last two movies have been a huge flop. 2020 released Darbar, and 2021 released Annaatthe failed to sway the audience. With this new year, we hope that his upcoming 2023 movie Jailer does wonders. His film, Jailer, is scheduled to hit the screens on 14 April 2023.

2. Chiranjeevi

Chiranjeevi is, without any doubt, a gem from the Tollywood industry. We all remember what a hit his 2017 film Khaidi No. 150 was. However, since that year, no new hit has been given by him. His last three releases, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy (2019), Acharya (2022), and Godfather (2022), failed to do the magic at the box office. Nonetheless, we hope for his upcoming 2023 flick Waltair Veerayya to be more than just amazing.

3. Mohanlal

62-year-old Mohanlal is one of the greatest and biggest actors in the Malayalam film industry. The amount of hits he has given is beyond crazy. His 2019 film Lucifer created a sensation that is still alive among his fans. However, since then, he has failed to create an impact. This south superstar will now be seen in Alone and Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure. We hope that with these two films, he makes his comeback with a bang.

4. Prabhas

After the humungous success of both installments of Baahubali, Prabhas has become one of the most expensive actors of all time. However, one thing that is also true is that since those movies, he has been giving constant flops. Be it 2019 Saaho or 2022 Radhe Shyam; his charm has gone downhill. His upcoming 2023 flick is going to be Adipurush, whose trailer has received a lot of backlashes. Now it would be interesting to see how the film will actually do on the big screen.

Do you think these actors will make their comeback soon? Who among these is your favorite? Do tell us via the comments below.
