Govinda Talks About How Bollywood Conspired Against Him, ‘Apne Bhi Paraaye Ho Jate Hain’

Govinda is one of the most successful actors in the Bollywood industry. He was one of the best actors of the 90s’. Recently, Govinda has appeared in a string of flop movies. According to Govinda, a conspiracy has been hatched against him in Bollywood by a few sections of the film industry. Govinda said he had been sidelined deliberately that resulted in financial losses to him.

In a recent interview, the actor refuses to slander Coolie No 1 remake starring Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan. The movie opens to negative reviews from the audience. Asked about whether the film should not have been made, Govinda told TOI,

“You will never see me speaking against others. While others often like to talk about me, I never talk about their work or judge it because I respect everybody’s hard work and money invested.”

Govinda also talked about how he lost around INR 16 crores. He continued,

“In the last 14-15 years, I have invested money and lost around 16 crore. I was treated badly by some people from the fraternity too. My films didn’t get theatres and they wanted to demolish my career, which didn’t happen. Now, I am ready to kick-start 2021 in a big way.”

When asked whether there has been a conspiracy against him in the Bollywood industry, Govinda said,

“Yes, of course it was. As they say, apne bhi paraye ho jaate hain (friends turn their backs on you). If fate is not on your side, then your own people also turn against you.”

The actor has spoken against the filmmaker David Dhawan in recent years. On the Rajat Sharma show Aap Ki Adalat, Govinda opened how David Dhawan refused to return his calls when he needed a boost in his career. He told,

“After I left politics, I told my secretary to keep the phone speaker on, so that I could listen what he (David Dhawan) was saying. I heard David saying, Chi-Chi (Govinda’s nickname) is questioning a lot. He was telling my secretary, I do not want to work with Govinda anymore. Tell him to do some small bit roles.”

Govinda gave audiences some unforgettable laughter moments with his superb comic timing. He was the best actor when his career was at its peak. However, this is the sad reality of Bollywood. Do you guys agree with this? Let us know in the comments below.
