During the discussion, the topic of nepotism came. Ananya Panday, daughter of Chunky Panday who made her debut with Dharma’s Productions Student Of The Year 2 opened up about nepotism and her struggles in the Bollywood industry. She said,

“Everyone says that it is all glamorous and I’ve gotten everything that I wanted. But I’m very grateful that I’m my Dad’s daughter and I wouldn’t want it any other way. When people hate on me for nepotism, I’m not going to shy away that I’m Chunky Pandey’s daughter. My Dad has worked really hard and he’s still working.” “I’m so proud of him. I’m proud of being his daughter.

Ananya Panday further added,

When Student Of The Year 2 got delayed by a year, my dad actually didn’t even congratulate me till the film released because that’s how fickle the industry is. That’s how dispensable people are. Anything can happen, it can get shelved, it can release after years and he knows that. Mine has been a lot of personal experience, I have seen my dad go through so many things that I don’t take anything too seriously. I overcompensate sometimes and I am so scared that people may say that oh you are taking things too lightly’ so I will come extra early to places. I am so happy that I have this chance.”

Ananya did not stop there and added,

“Just because my Dad is an actor I’m not gonna say no to a film. My Dad never did a Dharma film, my Dad never went on Koffee with Karan. It isn’t as easy people say it is. Everyone has their own journey.”
